Turtle Bay runs slow?
Most computers should have enough power to run Turtle Bay properly, however, if your graphic card is not up to date; the game can run very slow. Turtle Bay shows you great graphics and 3D effects! In order for this to work, you need the latest graphic card drivers with OpenGL support.
Where do I get the latest drivers from?
First you must determine what graphic card is inside your computer. Please refer to your computers manual or ask the manufacture or the store you bought the computer from. There are a few freeware tools available which can help you determine your graphic card: EVEREST Home Edition
Second you must download the proper driver from the graphic cards manufactures website. For your convenience we provide you with a list of the most common graphic cards (listed in most common order):

Can not find a driver?
If your graphic card is old or discontinued and you can not locate a driver for your card, you can check at the Savage News website for unofficial drivers.
In the case your graphic card does not even support OpenGL, you can try the SciTech GLDirect software or the ALT Software Mesa Driver for DirectX 6.0
What is a graphic card?
A graphic card, or 3D accelerator, is a piece of hardware inside your computer which is used to draw text and images onto your monitor or screen.
Every computer uses a graphic card. Graphic cards are manufactured by many companies, those companies also provide you with a proper graphic card driver.
What is a graphic card driver?
A graphic card driver is used to by a program (Turtle Bay, Windows) to provide a standardized way to communicated with the graphic card. Without a standardized driver it would be near to impossible for a program to support all existing graphic cards. Turtle Bay used the OpenGL standard.
It is often the case that newly bought computers do not come with the latest graphic card drivers, some even use the default drivers provided by Windows. This is often the cause why even new computers run rather slow, even if they are high-end machines!
What is OpenGL?
OpenGL is a standardized environment to process and display graphics, it was first introduced in 1992. It is available on many platforms (Windows, Linux, Macintosh, etc.)
